We are truly living in the golden age of technology, particularly when it comes to beauty. Now more than ever, we're able to replicate at home what was previously only accessible to professionals: laser hair removal, facials, high-end hair tools, microdermabrasion. I've fully embraced my inner beauty techie over the past few years. Here are a couple of my favorites:

  • Tria Hair Removal Laser 4x: This at-home laser hair removal tool was on my wish list for a few months a couple of years ago, so I saved my pennies and Christmas gift cards. I will admit it's a bit intimidating and terrifying to use at first, but the hope of never having to shave ever again quickly overcame my fear. Is it painful? A bit, yes. Does it take time and dedication to use this? You betcha. I used it for six months religiously, and while I haven't seen any permanent results yet, I did notice the regrowth was slower and more sparse. That's a win in my book! I need to get back in the habit of using this tool and see what round two will do. Fingers crossed! (P.S. If you add this to your Christmas wish list, make sure you do your research first. It doesn't work on all hair types.)
  • Clarisonic Skin Care Cleansing System: I've been a Clarisonic fan for years. I still have the first one I received almost five years ago, and it's going strong. If you've never tried one of these brushes, they are deep-cleaning to the extreme. Nothing else on the market is truly comparable, in my opinion, especially when you pair it with the Luxe Cashmere Cleanse Brush Head (my favorite brush head I usually stock up on whenever my Ulta Beauty 20% off coupon comes in the mail). I notice such a difference in my skin texture when I use it consistently versus when it collects dust for a few weeks. I'm hooked!

I've also upgraded a few of my other beauty techie tools in the past year or so: curling wands, a hair straightener, a new dryer, an epilator. If you're looking for tools and products to add to your Christmas list, here are some of my favorites (and some others I have my eye on for my own list), all of which are available at Ulta Beauty:
