My Most-Worn Piece
I've been thinking this week about investment pieces and cost-per-wear. I certainly have some pieces in my closet that are extremely trendy and inexpensive—in one season and out the next. But other pieces in my wardrobe have managed to stick around and have stood the test of time . . . and it made me wonder which item I've worn most throughout the years. I knew immediately: my Loft utility jacket.
I bought mine back in the summer of 2011 when I was interning for a publishing house in Little Rock, Arkansas. Utility jackets were the hot new thing, so naturally one was on my wish list. My friend Sarah was working for Loft that summer, so I frequently stopped in there to say hi to her and to do some browsing. One day, as fate would have it, hanging on the clearance rack for $30 was a utility jacket. As an intern, I didn't have a lot of extra cash to spend, so $30 was a big deal.
Little did I know it would probably be one of the wisest uses of my clothing money; I've worn the jacket countless times throughout these past five years, both on my blog and when I'm headed out the door and need something to top off my outfit or to keep me warm indoors. It's still going strong. (You can shop some similar jackets below, by the way.)
What about you? What your most-worn piece in your closet?
