H&M Does Beauty | Re-Mix-Her

Last year when H&M announced they were completely expanding and reformulating their beauty line, the buzz in the beauty community was incredible. Most of the items they launched were highly recommended by my fellow bloggers, and those lucky enough to shop in-stores said the variety of products was impressive. I remember checking the H&M website obsessively to find out if the Omaha H&M was carrying anything from the new beauty line, but I had no luck. I didn't want to order anything online, either, as I really wanted to see it in person before making a decision to purchase.

My time came a few weekends ago when I was in Cincinnati for a wedding and stumbled across an H&M. I saw the display and consequently spent probably 20 minutes combing through all the products and trying to remember which products were the most recommended. (My poor roommate was sitting at the food court this whole time, but she had soccer on a big screen TV to keep her busy.)

Number one on my list was the smokey nudes eyeshadow palette, which was $12. I've been using this palette for the past few days straight, and without fail I've gotten complimented on my eyeshadow those days. This is a slightly cooler palette with mostly matte shades, although there is one shimmer and a few satin shadows in the mix. For the most part, they blend as beautifully as other high-end shadows I own, and the formula is buttery and very evenly pigmented. My one con to this palette is the middle pink shade, which is the shimmer. It just doesn't apply as pigmented as I want it to, even when I use my finger to apply it. It seems to lose a lot of the big glitter particles in it once you apply it, and if I'm going to take the time to use a glittery eyeshadow, I want some serious payoff. My one solution that works is to spray my brush with MAC Fix+ to give the eyeshadow more punch.

Other than the one dud shade, I think H&M did a fantastic job with this palette, especially for $12 for a wonderful variety of shades and finishes. Expect a tutorial going up on my YouTube channel very soon using this palette!

(Unfortunately I can't find the palette online for you to shop directly, but check your local H&M to see if they carry it.)
