Hello, my name is Caitlin, and I am addicted to thrift shopping. I find that thrift shopping is like hunting. You never know what you’ll catch, but the thrill of the hunt is enough to give you motivation to go, even if you don’t actually find anything. The only problem is that I usually find something good; today’s outfit is testimony to that. Here’s the breakdown:
Blazer: Garage sale
Tights: Hue (TJ Maxx)
Heels: Salvation Army (Franco Sarto)
This past weekend were the 50% off storewide Goodwill sales, so four of my friends and I piled into my car and headed down to Indy for some serious thrift shopping. Among some of my finds were the dress and belt I’m wearing today, both new with the tags still on them. My dress and belt together cost $3.50. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m the ultimate in cheap. Cheap chic, that is.
I was glad I decided to belt the dress under the blazer; I love the definition is gives to my waist, along with the blazer. I actually bought the belt with my trench coat in mind. I love Burberry, and this season’s trench coats are covered in leather and studs. So I had the brilliant idea to update my trench coat the cheap way, by replacing the original belt with a 50-cent studded belt that adds a little bit of edge to a classic piece. Brilliant, if you ask me. Now all I need to do is bring back my trench coat from home so I can try it out.
Did you notice I have a new layout? I’m so excited for the changes I made. Are you a fan of the new layout? Have a wonderful Monday!
