Daily: Band Geek

I’m truly a band geek at heart. Although I quit band after my eighth grade year, I’ve always had a love for orchestral and piano music. Soundtracks are my preferred study/writing music, and I will never forget eighth grade when we performed the Star Wars film score and our band director used a lightsaber to direct us. Okay, enough geeking out. Here’s the breakdown:

Tee: Concert
Blazer: Garage sale
Jeans: Dear
Flats: Gift
Rings: Claire’s/Rue21
Earrings: Garage sale
Coin Clutch: Garage sale

My mom actually found the jacket for me at a garage sale this summer. It kind of reminds me of Michael Jackson meets band geek meets military trend. I like it. I even like the shoulder pads in it, which is something I thought I’d never say about shoulder pads. But if Lady Gaga can pull off outrageous shoulders, I can, too.

That was a joke.

I wanted to leave the look a little casual, so I paired it with a tee I bought at a concert a year ago. I love the vintage look to this tee, and it’s ridiculously soft. I also took out the straps on my coin purse to make it into a clutch, just for something a little bit different today.
