Some rules in fashion were meant to be broken. Are you supposed to wear white after Labor Day or before Labor Day? Are you supposed to match your shoes to your bag, or not? Are you allowed to mix metals and metallics? Here’s the breakdown:
Dress: TJ Maxx (The Limited)
Vest: Elder Beerman
Earrings/Bracelet: Garage sale/American Eagle
Probably the most well-known fashion “rule” I know of is that you’re not supposed to wear brown and black together. FALSE! In case you haven’t been paying attention to the upcoming fall fashions, brown and black together is everywhere. Designers made prints with only the two colors in it. I think the two together are tres chic! They’re both neutrals, and neutrals go with everything…so why not each other?
The vest didn’t last long in the heat, though. As soon as I got back to my extremely hot, humid dorm room, I peeled it off and just sat in front of my fan. The dress is cute by itself, so I wore it to dinner without the vest. I prefer not to sweat to death.
