Folks, Sonia Kashuk has done it again. With every new seasonal collection she releases, the products and the inspiration behind them just get better. This particular season, I was psyched to see the theme was Knock Out Beauty. The collection celebrates the power of women and their individual beauty, and in a world obsessed with putting women into a box of what we should look like, I love the fresh, positive take Sonia has brought to the makeup aisles.

So far I've only picked up two items, but if they're any indication, the rest of the collection must be stellar. I immediately had my eye on the Knock Out Beauty Smokey Eye Palette, which is a mix of 16 shimmer and matte shadows (mostly matte). It looked like an extension of my beloved and well-used Eye on Neutral Matte Palette, but with a few cooler and rosier tones added and a couple of shimmers. If you loved the Eye on Neutral palette, you will be thrilled that the formula of this new palette's shadows are even better than the original. These new eyeshadows are seriously pigmented and blendable. I only wish there were a few more shimmers thrown in the palette.

The other piece I picked up from the line was the Knock Out Beauty Skin Glow Highlighter. Sonia's highlights are my favorite from the drugstore, and while I love this new one, it is different from its seasonal predecessors. It's slightly more sheer in its pigmentation and formula, so if you're looking for that serious pop you'd get from something like a Becca highlighter, this isn't it. But if you have mature skin, I think this would be a fantastic highlighter because the shimmer in it is so subtle and isn't chunky at all. And if you're pale like I am and find gold highlighters really hard to work with, this one is for you, too, because it is so sheer that it looks more natural. Oh, and did you notice the boxing glove design? Knock out!
