Hi.

I'm Caitlin Wilson, a twenty-something midwesterner with a penchant for neutrals, donuts, and makeup. Thanks for reading!

Let's talk about . . . highlighters

If someone were to ask me what my favorite part of my makeup routine is currently, it’d definitely be highlighting, contouring and blush. I love the difference it can make in how my makeup looks. Right now, I’ve been rotating between a few different highlighters. The Body Shop’s Brush On Radiance is perfect if you’re looking for something a little less expensive, and it’s pretty hard to go overboard with this one. If you’re looking for something with a bit more punch, the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors are what you’ll want to reach for (I own Moonstone and Rose gold). Laura Mercier’s Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact is also one that requires a light hand and very little product to make a big impact.

MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade is really natural-looking and slightly less shimmery than the others, so definitely try this one out if you’re just breaking into highlighting and contouring for the first time. The most recent highlighter purchase I’ve made is from theBalm: the Cindy-Lou Manizer. It’s a peachy-pink highlighter, so I’ll probably reach for it more in the summer months when I have *slightly* more color to me.

I’d love to know what some of your favorite highlighters are! Let me know in the comment section below!
