Hi.

I'm Caitlin Wilson, a twenty-something midwesterner with a penchant for neutrals, donuts, and makeup. Thanks for reading!

Literal-minded

Every spring, it never fails that I always manage to incorporate more and more nautical-inspired pieces into my wardrobe. How can I help myself, though, knowing that the pieces will never go out of style because nautical is a recurring style every spring? I foresee myself retiring and moving to a lake or a sea and living out my days in my nautical-inspired wardrobe. Here’s the breakdown:

Blazer: Isaac Mizrahi for Target via Goodwill
Blouse: Old Navy (on clearance here [although I got it for less in-store])
Denim: Elle via Kohl’s
Boat Shoes: Lands’ End (last year but similar here
Hat: Forever 21 (last year but similar here)
Necklace: H&M
Bracelets: Forever 21/Garage sale/My grandma's

This blouse was a weekend find that happened while I was searching for a sailboat blouse I saw on Old Navy’s website but couldn’t find in-store. I thought this blouse was a close substitute, though, especially when paired with other nautical accessories, like boat shoes, a sailor’s hat and a rope necklace. A little too literal take on the trend? Perhaps … but I like it.
