The April 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar had this great one-page spread of stark black and white graphic accessories with punches of cobalt blue. In the middle of the page was one of many of Karl Lagerfeld’s genius ideas for Chanel: black, white, and cobalt deconstructed suits and dresses. I couldn’t help pulling inspiration from the page. Here’s the breakdown:
Trench: Borrowed from my roommate (The Limited)
Black Denim: Borrowed from my roommate (TJ Maxx)
Ankle Boots: Gift
Necklace: Elder Beerman
Assorted Bangles: American Eagle/Elder Beerman
Sometimes borrowing clothes from a roommate is the best way almost to reinvent your closet. It’s like doubling your closet without having to pay an extra dime! Luckily, my roommate and I are the same size, so we share clothes quite a bit. My roommate has a great spring coat collection, and this graphic trench that she bought from The Limited is probably my favorite. I have a major thing for stripes.
