Hi.

I'm Caitlin Wilson, a twenty-something midwesterner with a penchant for neutrals, donuts, and makeup. Thanks for reading!

My own version of spring

I think the mild winter got to me because I am really looking forward to spring. Winter, besides fall, is my favorite season, but I can’t help but be excited about the slightly warmer weather with flower blooming on campus and everyone being outside in the sunshine. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me or what changed my mind from years past, when I’ve wanted to hold on to winter and cooler weather for a bit longer. Here’s the breakdown:

Blazer: Oscar de la Renta via Salvation Army
Blouse: J.Crew via Goodwill
Skirt: Old Navy (2008)
Tights: Kohl’s
Booties: Steve Madden via DSW
Bag: Banana Republic (2011)
Bracelets: Saver’s/Garage sale

I must not be completely cured of my love of winter and fall because when putting on such bright, spring-like colors and prints this morning, I still added a little bit of fall with my leopard-print booties and my tweed Oscar blazer. While this isn’t necessarily the most conventional pairing of prints ever, it still works for me. With the mix of fall and spring elements, I call this look my own version of spring.
