Beginning this week, I thought I’d add a new feature to the blog called “Re-Mix-Her.” I know — it seems slightly redundant, considering my blog’s name. However, part of the reason I started this blog was because of my love of remixing different pieces in my closet to create many new looks. I try not to wear the same thing twice, but I definitely have key pieces in my wardrobe that I like to wear over and over again. Hence the new feature, which will give you an idea of how to mix in other items you already own and “re-mix-her.” Here’s the breakdown:
Flower Print Blouse: Goodwill (J.Crew)
Blazer: Forever 21
Skirt: Salvation Army (Banana Republic)
T-Strap Heels: Goodwill (Franco Sarto)
Necklace: Elder Beerman
Clutch: Salvation Army
I fashioned part of my outfit after a few recent city-chic outfits I’d seen on another blog called Saucy Glossie. Lindsay, who writes the blog, has a great sense of style, particularly when mixing classy skirts and sophisticated blazers while keeping them from feeling stuffy by adding texture and print.
Most of my outfit was thrifted, and I was particularly happy to find the flower blouse from J.Crew at a local Goodwill. The many colors in the blouse allows me to play with multiple colors in my outfit, like pink, teal and gray. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; multi-functionalism is key to any piece of clothing.
