Hi.

Orange: A transitional color

This has been a literary movie week for me. My mom and I watched the six-hour Pride and Prejudice during the three-day weekend, and last night we watched Midnight in Paris. Being a writing major in college, I love a good chick flick based on even better literature. Do you have a favorite literature-inspired movie? Here’s the breakdown:

Blouse: Banana Republic via Goodwill (similar)
Skirt: The Limited (similar)
Heels: Target (similar)
Bag: Target (similar)
Earrings: By Boe (c/o Alex)
Ring: Charming Charlie

The minute I bought this skirt (on super sale, no less), I immediately knew chambray was the blouse to pair with it. I love that orange is one of those transitional colors that can easily be paired with other bright colors in summer for a color-blocked look and that complements neutrals in fall. What’s your favorite way to wear orange: with neutrals or with other brights?

P.S. Shop some of these other transitional, orange skirts!
