Our Engagement Photos

One of the most important parts of the wedding-planning process for me was to find a good photographer. Someone told me to spend more than you have budgeted on photography because the photos are something you'll have forever to remember the day. Brian and I spent a few hours researching and talking to various photographers in the Kansas City area, and The Waldron Photograph Co. came highly recommended. We got in touch with Stephen, one of the photographers at the company, and scheduled a day to meet to have our engagement photos taken.

The whole weekend ended up being rainy—and the weather never let up. It was either misting or pouring rain, and boy, was it cold. Stephen and Brian were both troopers and braved the elements to get some fantastic photos. I texted some of the proofs to friends, to which one friend responded, "I love that you used an umbrella as a prop!" If only she knew it wasn't just a prop but was completely necessary not to end up drenched.

We ended up staying an extra day in KC to take advantage of non-rainy weather, and I'll never forget the experience of shooting these pictures. It was an adventurous, slightly damp, but all in all beautiful weekend.
