My New Drugstore Go-To Foundation

As you saw in my last vlog a couple of weeks ago, I've been putting quite a few new drugstore products to the test. I've been testing everything from highlighters to brow products, but by far, my favorite purchase from the drugstore this year has been a new foundation from Rimmel.

The foundation debuted last year in the U.K. and is making its way across to pond to U.S. drugstores this year.

I've always had a soft spot for Rimmel foundations, particularly because they always seem to suit my pink-undertoned skin and come in a shade light enough that I don't have to add white foundation to it. *Insert hands raised emoji*

Their newest launch is their Lasting Finish 25-Hour Breathable Foundation. It claims to be high definition and a medium coverage, and while I can't attest to its alleged HD powers, I can attest to its coverage claims. It truly is a breathable, medium-coverage foundation and lets my freckles peep through while still covering any redness. It does a beautiful job of evening out my skin while still managing to look natural. I also love the giant doe-foot applicator; it's mess-free and my new preferred way to apply foundation (as opposed to a pump or a cushion).

This is one of those foundations that just gets better throughout the day, and believe me, I've had my fair share of testing foundations lately that didn't do that and just broke up by the end of the night. When I've gone to take my makeup off at the end of the night, I can't get over how flawless this foundation still looks, even after a 14-hour day of work, working out, walking the dogs, and making dinner. Did I mention that it's only $6.99?

My favorite way to apply it is using the Clarisonic foundation brush head, then blending any uneven patches with a Real Techniques sponge. I do find I have to set it with powder (this one is my current must-have), but powder, contour powder, bronzer, blush, and highlighter all layer beautifully on top of it.

If you already own a Clarisonic, you need to put the foundation brush head on your wish list. It's amazing!

I found the foundation at my local Walgreens, and while it's not available widely online yet, I'm sure it will be soon. You can find a portion of the available shade range here, but I'd recommend checking out your local drugstores or WalMart to see if it's in stock. (Oh, and I forgot to mention this: The above photos have not been touched up other than basic lighting changes so you could see how the foundation lays on my skin.)
