The Dewy Drugstore Foundation

You know those moments when you're in Walgreens just picking up one thing and you end up spending 10+ minutes in the makeup aisle? That's what happened when I picked up this foundation. If you have dry skin, stop reading this post right now and go pick up Rimmel London's Lasting Finish 25H Foundation with Comfort Serum.

So here's what the foundation promises:

  • Instant perfect coverage that feels extra comfortable and lasts all day
  • Blends flawlessly, seamlessly, instantly and easily into the skin
  • Sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours

A small caveat to keep in mind with my review: I have oily skin, particularly during the summer. The coverage of this foundation was on-point from the moment I applied it with a brush, and it covered my blemishes so well that I needed a little less concealer than usual. It did, indeed, blend well, and the color ("light porcelain") was perfect for my cool-toned skin.

Everything sounds great, right? Everything was fine and dandy until I walked out into the humid, 80-degree weather. A few hours into the day, I noticed most of the foundation had moved completely off my nose and seemed to be moving around quite a bit on my chin. The foundation never seemed to set completely, and if my fingers brushed my face, I had foundation on my fingers, despite using powder to set the foundation.

The overall finish was quite dewy, so while I wouldn't recommend it for oily-skinned gals in the summer, it might work well in the winter for you ladies with similar skin to me. But if you have dry skin, go out and get yourself a bottle of this foundation. As for me, I'll be stashing this away until cooler weather comes.
