Like clockwork, when the warmer weather hits, my makeup routine becomes a bit easier and less fussy. That especially includes my lip-color choices. I tend to move away from lipstick (in part because I fear them melting in the heat) and lean more toward lip glosses. This year I’ll be leaning on something that’s not quite lipstick and not quite gloss, but just as hydrating as gloss and as long-lasting as lipstick: Sonia Kashuk’s Velvety Matte Lip Crayons.
If you’re a fan of the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, you will love the drugstore version you can find at Target. The Sonia Kashuk ones are just as pigmented, and there’s a flattering shade for every skin tone. I have the colors Pinky Nude (09), Candy Nude (02), and Coraly Nude (01). They run at less than $8 a pop, and I think you’ll find they’ll make your way into your purse for everyday wear—and stay there.
