Hi.

I'm Caitlin Wilson, a twenty-something midwesterner with a penchant for neutrals, donuts, and makeup. Thanks for reading!

The tribal look

This weekend was spent doing a little work and spending time with family, celebrating Fathers Day with a barbecue. On Friday, I took the day off to head up north to Michigan and found some fantastic deals at some garage sales, including a panama hat that is sure to make an appearance on the blog sometime this week. Here’s the breakdown:

T-Shirt: Macy’s
Skirt: Goodwill
Sandals: Dolce Vita for Target (similar here)
Bag: Brahmin (c/o Vogue)
Sunnies: Free People (gift)
Necklace: Target

No matter how feminine or “tame” my daily outfits tend to become during the summer (when ladylike looks abound everywhere), I somehow find a way back to my slightly edgier roots. I love the soft, pastel summer looks, but I also love hard lines and bold patterns. This skirt screams tribal, so I paired it with equally loud, hard lines in my sandals. (I even wore a beaded, tribal statement necklace for most of the day until it broke, but luckily it’s fixable.)
