One of my favorite things about fall is being able to incorporate summer pieces into fall outfits. The challenge is keeping warm yet managing to incorporate older pieces in new ways. The day I wore this outfit was the perfect fall day: cool enough in the morning that I needed a jacket yet warm enough in the afternoon that I could take a few layers off. Here’s the breakdown:
Tee: Garage sale (Banana Republic)
Skirt: Ann Taylor LOFT
Heels: LC by Lauren Conrad (Kohl’s)
Jacket: Elder Beerman
Bag: Garage sale (Coach)
Necklace: Elder Beerman
My skirt is one of those pieces that transitions easily from summer to fall. Its coral accents make it summery, but all I have to do to play up its autumn feel is pair it with a darker green. I did just that with my tee and with one of my favorite pairs of heels. Just this past summer, I began incorporating piece after piece of olive/darker green into my wardrobe, and after experiencing just a little of its multi-seasonal power, I’m glad I invested in a few pieces.
